The Dubai Land Department (DLD) - through the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Rera) - has issued a notice confirming that it has started implementing a new smart service called Madmoun.

Under Madmoun, which can be accessed through the Trakheesi system, a QR code will be issued for any real estate advertising licence.

From 24 April, all real estate companies will include the code in their print and audiovisual advertising, enabling customers to use this new service.

In addition to the QR code, residents will be able to access the DLD's website to view all other details of the advert - including the condition and specifications of the property.

Marwan bin Ghalita, CEO of DLD's Rera, said: "This service is in line with DLD's strategy to make Dubai a 'world leader in real estate investment' by leveraging technology to develop real estate products as directed by its wise leaders. It also supports the DLD's mission to achieve the goals of Dubai's economic agenda 'D33' [which aims to] generate new economic value from digital transformation [and consolidate] Dubai's position as the global capital of the digital economy."
